Step by step.
- Read the AI Influence Score and its weakest pillar. The weakest pillar is the opportunity.
- Read AI in your funnel: sessions and conversions that arrived from an AI engine, as your Google Analytics recorded them. These are clicks, not mentions. An answer can name you and nobody clicks. If a tile says n/a, your Analytics key events are not set up yet; ask us and it is a short job.
- Read Closest wins at the bottom. These are questions where some engines already name you and others do not, which is the cheapest ground to take next.
- Use Where AI gets its answers as your outreach list. The By question shape table shows which kind of source wins which kind of question.
What happens next. Nothing here is a lever on its own. It tells you which question to work next; the brief on Briefs is where that work starts.
Every other tab measures what the engines say. This one puts that beside what people did: the visits, the conversions, the search clicks, the ad clicks, with AI marked wherever it appears in the picture. It is on Done for you because it needs your analytics connected and a person reading it with you.
The line to keep in mind is that visibility is not traffic. An engine can name you to a hundred people and your analytics will see three clicks, because most people read the answer and act on it somewhere else. This tab shows both numbers honestly and never pretends one proves the other.
What the screen is telling you.
- Visibility is not traffic. Visibility is what the engines say when asked. Traffic is what people did, from your own analytics. Analytics sees the click and never the question that led to it, or whether the visitor was a buyer or a colleague doing research.
- The Google Ads section frames what AI added as additive to paid clicks, never as replacing them.
- Search, and where AI fits lists queries where AI may be intercepting clicks you used to get: a question an assistant now answers before anyone reaches the results page.
People ask.
- Why is this tab empty?
- It needs your Google Analytics and Search Console connections. We walk you through the grant; it takes a few minutes and nothing else on your site changes.
- What is an AI referred session?
- A visit your Google Analytics attributed to an AI engine as the referring source. It counts people who clicked through from an AI answer. It does not count the answers that named you with no click, and it cannot see what the visitor asked.
- My mentions went up and my AI traffic did not. Is something wrong?
- No. Most answers that name a business do not get a click; the person reads the answer and acts on it later, or calls. Mentions lead traffic by weeks to months, and many never show as a click at all. Watch both, and trust the mentions as the earlier signal.
