What to do

Step by step.

  1. Click a scored cell on the battle map. The drawer opens with every answer collected for that question on that engine this month.
  2. Read the first answer. Your name is highlighted green where it appears, your competitors' names red. Under each answer, Sources the engine cited lists the pages it drew on.
  3. Step through the answers (Answer 1 of n, with the time each was collected). What differs between them is the diagnosis.
  4. Press Open as a full page for the same evidence on its own page, with an In short line at the top: on this engine, you are named, nobody is named consistently, or a competitor is named and you are not.

What happens next. If an answer states something wrong about you, it is already on your Accuracy tab with a correction plan. If a competitor holds the answer, Diagnosis has the plan for taking it.

Every cell on the battle map is a verdict, and every verdict has its evidence one click away. The portal calls it the receipt: the engine's actual answers to that question this month, word for word, exactly as a buyer would have read them, with the names highlighted and the sources listed.

This is the screen to open when a cell surprises you. A loss makes sense once you read who the engine cited. A split makes sense once you read what differed between the ask that named you and the ones that did not. And a wrong fact in an answer is the start of a correction, which is what the Accuracy tab is for.

How to read it

What the screen is telling you.

  • Answers are stored verbatim and never edited. What you read is what the engine said, with the highlighting added and nothing removed.
  • The cited sources are the map's most useful list. A source that says the wrong thing about you is where a wrong claim comes from; a source that names your competitor and not you is where the next page needs to be.
  • Answers are kept for the current month. Older months keep their verdicts (who held the cell) but not the readable text, so the timeline shows movement and the drawer shows this month's evidence.

People ask.

It says No receipt found for that cell yet.
The cell was scored before its answers were stored, which happens on the first run for a new question. The answers appear after the next measurement.
Can I share an answer with my team?
Yes. Open as a full page gives it its own address inside the portal, and anyone with a sign-in for your account can open it.
Why is a source listed that I have never heard of?
Because the engine read it. Directories, listicles, review sites and old press are common. The correction plan on Accuracy tells you which of those you can change and which are countered with your own page instead.
