Fixes in progress, and your Google Business Profile

Each wrong claim becomes one or more placements: an exact change in an exact place, on your site, on your Google Business Profile, or on a directory or profile, with an owner and a status. Mark a fix done with what the listing shows now. Connect your Google Business Profile and an approved profile fix can be written to the field from the portal.

What to do

Step by step.

  1. On the Accuracy tab, open a claim's correction plan and read Where the fix goes under the steps. On Continuous Improvement, the same placements are under Fixes in progress, grouped by where they go: on your site, Google Business Profile, directories and profiles.
  2. Each placement names the target (the page, the profile, the listing), the location (the sentence, the field) and the exact copy, with the claims it answers and the engines that made them.
  3. Assign it, edit the copy, or mark it done. For a site fix paste the page address; for a profile or listing fix type what it shows now, such as the name as it reads today. The date is recorded.
  4. Google Business Profile: under Fixes in progress, press Connect Google Business Profile and sign in with the Google account that manages the profile (the owner's, or an agency account added as a manager). Pick the location. Then switch writes on.
  5. Once writes are on, a profile fix shows Write it to the profile on its row. Press it and the field is updated and the fix marked done with the value written. Until then the row shows Preview the profile write, which shows exactly what would be sent and sends nothing.

What happens next. The next monthly audit re-asks the same questions; a claim the engines stopped making moves to Corrected on its own.

A wrong claim is fixed at its source, and a placement is the source with the change spelled out: not "update your profile" but "the name field reads this today; it should read this". The accuracy audit writes them from what the engines cited and what your listings record says, so a step never says "if you have one".

Most placements are done by hand and marked done with what the listing shows now. The Google Business Profile connection is the first one the portal can do for you: the name, the description, the website and the phone, written to the field with your permission, with every write logged.

How to read it

What the screen is telling you.

  • Fields written through the connection: the business name, the description, the website and the phone. Hours, categories, services and attributes are structured and stay a change you make in the profile by hand, with the copy shown.
  • Writes to this profile shows the state: off, on, on and waiting for Eidomai (the connection is switched on for the portal by us, account by account), or paused by Eidomai.
  • Switching writes on is for Owners: the account, or Owners at your agency. Any person on the account can then write an approved fix. Eidomai can pause writes for an account at any time, and the row says so.
  • A fix whose edited copy is held by the draft check, or that was declined, cannot be written. Fix the copy or reopen it first.
  • We place copy on your own site and profiles only, never on a site someone else owns. A placement on a competitor-owned source is never written.
Questions

People ask.

Why does the connection ask for my Google sign-in?
Google writes to a Business Profile only with the permission of an account that manages it. You grant the portal that permission once; it is stored encrypted and you can disconnect at any time from the same block, and revoke it from your Google account's third-party access.
My agency connected it with their Google account. Is that fine?
Yes, as long as that account stays a manager on your profile. If you remove it, writes fail with a Google error in the log and the fix is to connect again with your own account.
The button says Preview and nothing changed on my profile.
Writes are previews until the account switch is on and Eidomai has switched the connection on for the portal. The preview shows the exact request so you can check the field and the value before anything goes live.
Can the portal change my hours or categories?
No. Those are structured fields and the placement shows the copy for you to apply by hand. Mark it done with what the profile shows afterwards.
