What to do
Step by step.
- Partner home. Each account shows its plan. A Ready to move up marker appears when the map's numbers say the plan is too small for the client.
- Open the marker. It says why in one line: how many questions the client is losing, how many briefs are open, how many months since anything shipped, whether the industry is a reviewed one.
- Take the line to the client meeting with the handout. The map makes the case; you make the ask.
- Partner home, the account's Change plan button, pick the plan and confirm. A move up starts at once. The new plan is counted on your next invoice.
The map tells you when a plan is too small. A client on The Scan losing twelve questions with one brief a month is not going to catch up. A client on The Map with briefs open since August is not going to write them. The account list marks both, with the reason in one line, and the reason is what you say in the meeting.
Moving up is one change from the partner home. The map, the ledger and the briefs carry over.
How to read it
What the screen is telling you.
- The Scan to The Map: the client is losing more questions than one brief a month can cover, and someone is shipping the brief. They are doing the work; give them the whole list.
- The Map to Done for you: briefs have sat open two months running with nothing marked shipped, or the client is in a reviewed industry with wrong claims open and nobody sending corrections. Nobody is doing the work; three tasks a month gets it done.
- The signal is a sort order for you, not a rule. You know the client. Dismiss a marker and it stays quiet for three months.
- Moving a client down takes effect on the 1st, so nothing is taken away mid-month. Picking the current plan again cancels a scheduled move.
Questions
People ask.
- Why would I move a client up?
- Because the map stops moving when the work stops. A client whose map moves every month stays. A client whose red cells never change leaves. Moving up is how the work gets done, and your billing page shows what it does for you.
- Do I have to charge the client more?
- That is yours to decide. The Map and The Scan are measurement; most partners pass them through or fold them into a retainer. Done for you is your program at your price, delivered under your name.
- Can I move a client down?
- Yes, any month. A pause goes to The Scan, not to removal, so the baseline survives.
