What to do
Step by step.
- Partner home, Add an account.
- Enter the website and pick the industry. If you already know the questions the client's buyers ask, add them; otherwise the engine proposes twenty from the site and the market.
- Pick the plan: The Scan, The Map or Done for you. You can change it any month.
- Save. Setup starts. The account shows a six-item checklist at the top until it is done: Search Console, GA4, the context interview, the buyer questions, the watchlist, the first scan date.
- Send the context interview to the business owner. Ten minutes, in their own words. Every brief and every draft is built from it.
Adding a client is a website, an industry and a plan. Setup starts on its own and the checklist shows what is left. The context interview is the item that matters most; it is where the client's facts come from.
One brand in one market is one account. Keep that rule and the measurement stays clean.
How to read it
What the screen is telling you.
- One brand in one market is one account. A second location in a different market, or a second brand, is a second account. The questions carry the region in them, so mixing markets mixes the measurement.
- If you scanned the business as a prospect first, press Convert to account on the prospect instead. The prospect scan becomes the baseline, so the first monthly report shows what changed.
- Your own agency is an account too. Run it first so your team learns the portal where nothing can go wrong. It is included once you run five client accounts.
Questions
People ask.
- Which plan should a new client start on?
- The Scan if nobody is sure yet and someone can write one piece a month. The Map if the client has someone who writes and publishes. Done for you if nobody on their side or yours will write, or if their industry reviews marketing before it ships.
- Can a client have two websites in one account?
- No. One brand in one market is one account. If the two sites are one brand in one market, use the primary site; the engines name the business, not the domain.
- How does the account appear on my invoice?
- Every account is counted at its plan on the 1st. Your billing page shows next month's invoice before it is sent.
